Why fidelity ?
«Why be faithful when we can live our sexuality with numerous people? What’s wrong with watching a porn movie, even as a couple, to have fun and ‘add some spice’ to our relationship, as some people say? Is fidelity an old-fashioned, outdated concept? And why do we sometimes hold back, resist being unfaithful while deep down, we maintain unexpressed fantasies in ourselves?
Did you know that sexual diversity and multiple choices of lover are in fashion at the moment? Is this the right orientation for our young people and society? If so, what would a society where everyone practiced free love and sexuality be like? »
We are currently going through an unprecedented crisis of values and it is important to ask ourselves these questions, to reflect on the principle of the multiplication of an idea, a trend. As long as something is practiced only marginally by a certain percentage of the population, then it doesn’t seem dysfunctional, but as soon as it is generalized, we realize that the multiplying effect engenders problems regarding structures, which then become sources of suffering. That is why laws have been created in our societies. Laws evolve, but a distorted principle does not, just as lying, stealing, killing, being aggressive cannot create good in and around us. That’s a fact, a principle, and an obvious one at that. Is fidelity a principle or not? Now, that’s a good question…
